grew up in an environment where art,music and literature governed daily life
her wide naturel interst went out to art

first thing she remembers is this drawing

but not for her....
sitting on the floor,
about 4 years,
she knows that ...:
this is her soul speaking ,her destination,
telling visual
everything is connected
in between
in the years before artschool...

this radiance of hapiness is most importend in her artistic work

while working in florence she met azad nanakeli , a really great charismatic visual artist

we made paint of sand and eggs,
using this on what we could find in nature ,
like leaves and wood
project rembrandtstraat
the residents of the rembrandtstreet in vlaardingen asked the government in vlaardingen to redecorate a place where they looked up
it was neglected
so they asked mar-jon to make contact with them to see what might be possible
it had to become a huge fresco on special concrete panels because there was a big gap between two walls
mar- jon needed a place to work
so she could use the space behind the firm of sander doeve
and worked there for almost a year on the panels
using special selfmade paint that would be restistaned to the wind and rain in the netherlands
the children in the street in the age of 1 year till 18 years were the models on the big mural
the idea was that they would be on the same places as the figures on the Nachtwacht from Rembrandt
mar- jon made scetches of the children before painting
some she still have in her studio
after this year of working every day
the panels were being placed on the wall in a very special way .. the buildingconstructor albert maat did a very good job, it wasn't easy
the final touch
the people in the street were very happy with the good feeling this place was giving them
they want to protect it
it is really something specially made
and they are so much more happy with how they live
they gave a big opening on the 15 th of july 2000

the library needed a new fresch look
so a new entrance and inside,
including the door of the elevators and hallway
the main idee was the bookmark
in the roof before the entrance there are little lights in the ceiling
the statue and the ceiling are one object
it needed to feel happy to go inside

she had to solve the problem that there was confusion about the entrances of the schools and it needed to have a good radiance , safe to play
it was commissioned, but there was a big freedom in how to design , there was trust..oa with ben van de velde and arie van der hout
in the ground are little lights.. in the night it is like stars comming out of the floor
the stones are made in beautiful round paterns
the schools were happy and also the people who live around in the neighborhood
